Nina Simone and Harry Belafonte devoted their life to bringing on the necessary change urged by the civil rights movement. They became ambassadors of freedom, love and justice by using their voices and walking up the stage without fear of showing their truths, feelings, themselves in their whole being human.
They made me think of how, when you feel a cause moving your heart, if you let it drive you it can lead you to find out what is your purpose. Cause there’s no given purpose. It’s all up to you.
How does everything you know and have experienced, what you have built upon year after year, look like? How do you want it to look like? It doesn’t matter what you have and where you are, but who you are and who you aim to be. As soon as you know that, you’ll be on the right path to awareness, fulfilment, and freedom.
If you want to feel your soul, listen to Nina. If you want to feel happy to be alive, go for Harry :)
